Wellness Center Etiquette
Someone has bought you a gift certificate or you have scheduled your first session ... NOW WHAT?
Here are a few guidelines to help you receive optimal benefit from your visit to Art of the Heart Therapies.
Call to schedule your session.
We work strictly by appointment, so are very flexible as to 'when' we will do a session. This includes days/evenings and weekends. Yep. Saturday nights and Sunday all day into the early evening are possible.
Once your session is scheduled, please give 24 hours notice to cancel, or plan to pay full rate for the time you have reserved.
The other side is this: If Art of the Heart Therapies has to cancel your session with less than 24 hours notice, you will receive a complimentary (FREE) session. So the courtesy goes both ways.
If you have scheduled a Wellness Spa Treatment, please bring along your bathrobe. Everything else is provided.
So how much clothing do you have to take off?
This is the BIG question! Relax.
We work with draping so your modesty is honored at all times. We only uncover the part of the body being worked on. You are kept warm, covered and comfortable.
To answer the question, only what you are comfortable removing. Some clients remove everything, secure in the knowledge they are kept covered during the session. Other clients remove very little. Most remove everything but their underpants.
If you are a smoker, please refrain for 2 hours before your session.
Everyone, please arrive freshly bathed. Sanitizer and a towel are available to allow you to clean off your feet and around your toes just prior to getting on the table for your session.
If this is your first visit, please plan to arrive 10 minutes early to complete necessary paperwork.
If you are returning, if there are any medical concerns or conditions that have arisen since your last visit please be sure to inform your therapist before the session.
Finally, there are no foolish questions. Please keep asking until you are completly comfortable.
Most sessions are done with little conversation to allow you to receive the greatest benefit.
Cell phones need to be OFF/vibrate when you enter the office. No phone calls may be taken any where on premise. Please step outside and away from building to use your phone.
Be aware that you have purchased the reserved time. Arriving late for your session will shorten the session. Please be prompt for optimal benefit.
Alcohol or drug use are contra-indicated for massage therapy and/or spa treatments. Use or consumption prior to the session will cause the session to be immediately cancelled and full payment expected.
If you wish to work with Rev. Bonnie May Barlow specifically, please request at time of booking session.
Most importantly, plan to come and have a marvelous experience steeped in deep relaxation, pain relief and stress reduction.
We are glad you have scheduled with us. If there is anything that you are unsatisfied with, please give us feed back so we can continue to improve what we do. Otherwise, please tell others about your experience!
